Christina’s Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Christina Hannah Kilburn (nee Duffy) announce her peaceful passing at the LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the age of 76.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 39 years, Peter; daughter Joanne (Bruce); son David (Laura); grandson Brandon; stepsons Gary, Bruce, Mark (Kim); step-daughter Heather; step- grandchildren: David, Krysta, Justin, Jason, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Christopher, Meagan, Brianna and Nathan, and several step great grandchildren; siblings: Wallace (Marlene), Marie, Tom, Hilda (Dorm), Patsy, Barbara (Emerson), Jean, Stella (Gerard), Shirley (Vince), Sheila (Roy), Marg (Andy), Betty, Debbie (Luke); sister in law, Barbara (Stephen); a large circle of nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John & Blanche Duffy, sister Diane, brother Butch, mother-in-law Violet, brothers-in-law Gus, Bob and Jack, and sister in law Marilyn; she was also predeceased by nieces, nephews, family and friends whom who she loved dearly.
As per Christina’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and the funeral service will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church at the Wesley United Church located in Port aux Basques on Friday, September 3rd, at 2pm with Father White officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
Special thanks to Curtis Francis and the staff at East Haven Funeral Home for helping make this process less painful. Also to the Acute Care nurses at LeGrow Health Centre who went above and beyond for her during her stay, and to her home care workers who took such good care of her. A very special Thank you to Michelle Marshall, who quickly became a part of our family and cared deeply for her. You were all her “Angels”, and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
