Obituary of Cheryl Overman
Our beloved sister and aunt, Cheryl Lynn Overman, died peacefully on September 12, 2021.
Cheryl was born into this world on December 6, 1953, to Gracie and Orey Overman. Her first years were spent in the small town of Hardisty where everyone knew her, looked out for her, and loved her. She liked to visit and had a giggle that was infectious.
Cheryl was predeceased by her brother Bud Overman, and sisters Marg Skoberg and Myra Letki. She is survived by sisters Marie Dosco and Verta Cooper, sister-in-law Marlene Overman, and many nieces and nephews.
As a youth, a stop at Seto’s Café where Cheryl would get to visit with her Aunt Ruth over a bowl of ice cream was the highlight of a day in town. She enjoyed family gatherings, parties, listening to music, and loved her dog, Rex. As an adult she bowled, played shuffleboard, and enjoyed a drive in the country.
Cheryl Lynn brought much joy to our family. She taught us about living in the moment, finding joy in simple things, never holding a grudge, and loving unconditionally. We will miss and always fondly remember our very special Cheryl Lynn.
We are grateful to those who have generously cared for Cheryl throughout the years and more recently for the compassion extended by the staff and residence of the Killam Long Term Care facility.
Donations in Cheryl’s memory may be made to High Mound Cemetery c/o Donna Oliver, 26 Madison Avenue, Sherwood Park, Alberta, T8A 0N2
