CherylAnn’s Obituary
DEMPSEY (Keddy), CherylAnn ~ age 75, of Berwick, N.S. (formerly of Nicholsville, N.S.) passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, N.S. While she had experienced health issues for several years, gratefully her time of hospitalization prior to her death was brief. CherylAnn was born August 30, 1946, to the late Kenneth Joffrey and Phyllis Alberta (Nixon) Keddy. She was also predeceased by a sister, Shirley, in infancy. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Arnold; sons, Todd (Lynn) and Jeff (Tina); brother, Wade (Marie); grandchildren, Braden, Logan, Hannah, Justin, Olivia and Payton; step-grandchildren, Elijah and Foster; great-grandchild, Emma. CherylAnn was an active woman who, along with being a homemaker, worked at several jobs throughout her life. She returned to school to complete high school and then a CCA course, which led to employment at the former Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick, and the Grand View Manor, Berwick. She later worked as an agent for Combined Insurance and as an independent agent. One of her more memorable jobs was being a part of the “Crazy Crew”, the name imposed by Vaughn Nichols on his group of apple picking ladies. She was a member of the Morristown Baptist Church and served a period of time as Secretary. She was a member of Mayflower Chapter #2 and Laurel Chapter #67, Order of the Eastern Star, having served a term as Worthy Matron for both Chapters. She was also a member of Athena Temple # 29 Halifax – Daughters of the Nile, where she had served a term as Queen. She gave her time and energy for many years to the Apple Blossom Festival, following her experience as Princess Aylesford in 1964. She was also actively involved with the Kings West PC Association. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A funeral service beginning with an Order of the Eastern Star Tribute will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 15, in Morristown Baptist Church, 6557 Aylesford Rd., Morristown with Rev. Chad Clements officiating, A private interment will take place in the Morristown Cemetery. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, it is now required to show proof of ID and full vaccination for indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Masking and hand sanitization are required.
