It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of an amazing wife and mother, Cheryl. Her strength of character and fighting spirit were evident from an early age on throughout her life. Whether she was jumping out of airplanes, riding elephants, or hiking mountains, she was an adventurer, living life to the fullest. As a young woman, she spent years travelling to five continents, immersing herself in other cultures. Cheryl was an avid runner, highlighted by her participation in the Vancouver Marathon, where she may us proud by qualifying for Boston. A hard worker, she ascended from clerk to GIS Technician for the City of Abbotsford, where she worked for 35 years. An incredibly loving and passionately dedicated mother, she devoted so much of herself to her boys, Dylan and Braden. She was giving, selfless, humble, faithful, dependable, and loving; a shining example of how to live life well.
She will be greatly missed by her husband (Darryl), sons (Dylan and Braden), mother (Susie), brothers (Ron and Brian), sister (Val), niece (Melissa), nephew (David) and her dogs (Chili and Pepper). We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Palliative Complex Care Unit at Abbotsford Regional for their exceptional care and Dr. Shaikh of the oncology unit for giving us the gift of time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Cheryl Marie Cummings Friesen August 5 1962
