Peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Devoted wife of the late Jacob Eliezer Spitzer z”l for fifty-three years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Rachel and Dr. Isidore Shanfield, Asher and Naomi Spitzer, and the late Arvy Amsel z”l. The best grandmother of Ronit Amsel and Dr. Avi Jacobson, Alona Amsel and Andrew Zelouf of London, England, Sharon Spitzer, and Yaron and Michele Spitzer. Proud great-grandmother (Bubboosh) of thirteen adoring great-grandchildren, AJ, Eli, Sadie and Miley Jacobson; Hannah, Ella, and Tali Zelouf; Adam, Nathaniel, and Ariel, Zabitsky; Sophie, Sam and Tali Spitzer. Daughter of the late Etel Smuck and the late Asher Anchel Scheiner. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Itzu and Nellie z”l, Zehava z”l and Moshe z”l, Shmuel and Shoshana, Etel (Etush) z”l and Itzik z”l , Dora and Dudi z”l, Sara z”l and Avrum z”l, Shaul z”l and Maydee, Zissel z”l and Mortzi z”l, Fischel z”l and Faychi z”l. Predeceased by her other siblings who perished in the Holocaust. Shari-neni, as she was known to her many nieces and nephews, will be greatly missed.
Bubby loved life, a Holocaust survivor, she never let that stop her positive attitude and helped live through trying times. She lived her life with remarkable elegance and style, her love of religion, tradition, and the State of Israel. She was a true matriarch and gave every member of her family, both immediate and extended, her full attention and support. She always put our needs before her own – a place to stay, amazing meals, or just someone to talk to. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. The family expresses sincere gratitude to Angie, Lisa, Allie-Belle, who cared to Bubby with kindness and love until her final day. They gave her the dignity she lived with for her whole life. A private funeral service to take place. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
