Charles (Chuck)’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Charles (Chuck) Stephen Downey announce his sudden passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at the age of 57 years. Chuck was predeceased by his father; Edward Downey, father-in-law; Donald LeRiche, nephew; Edward Downey plus a large circle of extended family.
Chuck leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving wife of 16 years Donna Downey (nee LeRiche). Chuck will forever remain in the hearts of his mother; Winifred Downey (nee Wadden) of Codroy Valley, NL, daughter; Charlene (Cody) Downey of Port aux Basques, NL, granddaughter; Teanna Downey, grandson; Alexander Downey, mother-in-law; Shirley LeRiche (nee Ashford), brother; Gary Downey of Ontario, sister; Denise Downey of Stephenville, NL, special aunt and uncle that took Chuck to be one of their own; Val and Charlie Crowe of New Waterford, NS, aunt; Gwenie Kendall of New Waterford, NS, uncle; Gary (Elizabeth) Wadden of Ontario plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
In keeping with Chuck’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 7th, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. There will be a graveside service and interment on Saturday, May 8th, 2021, at 11 a.m. from St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck’s memory can be made to the family.
