Charles Allen Huff, 86, originally of Knoxville, TN passed from this life Wednesday, Nov 10 at Elk River Rehabilitation Facility in Ardmore, TN where he has resided the past seven years serving as Chaplin and president of the residential council. The second oldest of three brothers, Charles was born in Mascot, TN to Henry and Robbie Major Huff on July 9, 1935. ‘Charlie’, as he was fondly known, graduated from Carter High in 1952. Charles began a career as a mechanic for the Southern Railway Co. in Knoxville. In 1972, after graduating from the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions at Karnes Church of Christ, he began a lifelong dedication to serving God as a mission’s evangelist. Charles and Rose, with family in tow, faithfully served small congregations in various parts of East Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. He preached God’s word in countless revivals, radio/television programs, and seminars. His missions took him to various and vast regions from Kentucky to Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, and the Caribbean Islands. He and his family were honored to serve the Kingdom of God by serving their church families, friends, and neighbors throughout the years. Charles was preceded in death by his loving parents, and most recently his brothers Dave & wife Wanda Huff of Mascot, and Bob Huff of Knoxville; Grandson Joshua Blake Tedder and great-granddaughter Emma Rose Kelly. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 58 years, Rosalee Marion Huff, originally of LaFollette, TN, now residing in Pulaski, TN. His only son, David Allen Huff of Johnson City, TN. Daughters, Debra Jean Wagner (Bob); Kimberly Marie Travis (Mike) both of Huntsville, AL. Rebecca Lynn Tedder (Teddy) of Lake Waccamaw, NC; and Robbie Gail Kelly of Sylvia, NC. His grandchildren; David Aron Branton, Amber Marie Kilgore (Kyle), Laura Marie Atkins (Larry), Lucas Allen Tedder, Mary Caitlin Tedder, Melissa Kathrine Collins (Michael), Thomas James Kelly II, Kris Kelly (Tammy). His great grandchildren, Lathan Thomas Kilgore, Mary Elsie Kilgore, Larry Joseph Atkins III, Hallie Marie Atkins, Michael Carson Atkins, Braxton Grant Tedder, Camden Elliott Tedder, Raiden Michael Collins, Charlie Ella Collins. Family will receive friends 1:00-3:00pm Sunday, November 14, at Bridges Funeral Home, with his service to follow at 3:00pm officiated by Rev. James Long. Immediately after the service, family and friends will go in procession to Roseberry Cemetery for an interment.
