Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Bluewater Health, Al Lawrence passed away at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Cindy Lawrence. Loving father of Cathy (John) Kazimer, Dianne (Brian) Allen, and Paul (Karen) Lawrence. Cherished grandfather of Tara (Sean) Haselden, Casey (Geoff) Sherritt, Paul Whitman, Tom MacLeod, Scott Whitman, Jessica Lawrence, Kristen Lawrence and Anna Lawrence. Treasured great-grandfather of Matthew Sherritt. Dear brother of Nancy Zenick. Remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Marjory Lawrence and by his siblings Jim Lawrence, Donna Carter, Jack Lawrence, Neil Lawrence, Peter Lawrence, and Linda Irwin. Al was an active member of the YMCA and was chairman of the YMCA Camp Committee in Kitchener. He loved golfing, boating and canoeing and spending time with family at the cottage in Muskoka. Al will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Due to COVID restrictions, those who wish to attend the memorial service must each RSVP: signup.com/go/ocbnEPJ.
