MAHONEY, Catherine Sarah Ann (nee Simms) – It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Catherine “Kitty” Mahoney, age 73 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Eileen Simms; brother, Jack Simms (Jean); sister, Barbara Hurley; and brother-in-law, Wince Stansbury.
Leaving behind to mourn her loss but cherish her memory, her loving husband of 49 years, Bernard Mahoney; daughters: Sandra Mahoney (Patrick Evans), Margie Mahoney, and Amanda Mahoney (Adam Pretty); grandchildren: Hayley and Liam Power (and their father, Gregory Power), Joshua, Jonathan (Olivia) and A.J. Mahoney and Tyson Pretty; great-grandchildren: Conner Butler-Mahoney (and his mother, Kelsey Butler); siblings: Sandra Stansbury, Larry Simms (Sharon), and Margaret Simms (Catherine); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends – including special friends: Tony Constantine, Hilda Hayward (and her sons, Leroy and Leon Hayward); as well as Chantel O’Dell and Brooke Dwyer.
Special thank you to staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their support and guidance during mom’s stay, to Dr. Patrick O’Shea for his wonderful care over the years, and to the nursing staff and Doctors of 4NA at the Health Sciences Complex, we thank you so much as well.
Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 12noon-4pm. Funeral service will be held from Caul’s Chapel on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00am. Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, the service will be by invite only, however it will be livestreamed. To attend virtually, please follow the link: vimeo.com/event/890607 .
