Obituary
Sadly, we announce that Catherine Sharpe passed peacefully away while surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Catherine leaves to mourn her husband, Wayne, of 43 years and her children: Christopher (Tanya), Melissa (Jeffery), and Matthew (Lauren). Catherine’s light shone most brightly as a grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Zachary, Timothy, & Lillian and Olivia, Ella, Leah, & Jonathan. Catherine is predeceased by her father Arthur Dicker and leaves to mourn her mother Mildred, sister Pamela, and brother Stephen (Doris), as well as a large circle of friends and family. Special thank you to her sister-in-law and, more importantly, friend Cynthia for her assistance and support throughout her long sickness.
Thank you to Dr. Grewal, the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, and the many doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and health workers who helped her over the years. Special thank you to the staff at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit.
Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home at 73 Commonwealth Ave on Friday, December 10th from 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm. Funeral Service to be held on Sunday, December 12th at 2pm at Holy Innocents Anglican Church. Interment to follow. For those unable to attend the service in-person, we encourage attending virtually. Please, visit the church web site www.holyinnocents.ca/ and follow the Facebook link.
Donations to the Holy Innocents Anglican Church in Paradise are gratefully accepted in her name. Catherine was a treasured member of the congregation for many years. Her faith, prayers, and personal conversations with Rev. Barter brought Catherine great comfort and peace with the challenges she faced.
As per government of NL regulation, proof of vaccination is required to attend, the Visitation and Funeral service. Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to the funeral service so the ushers may scan your NLVaxPass and seat you.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11.28
