Carol passed peacefully on the morning of May 16th, in her 68th year, with her beloved husband of 50 years and best friend Karl, at her side. She will be deeply missed by daughters Jen and husband Shawn, and Jody and husband Kevin. Loving and cherished grandma to Evan, Erik, Emilia and Ava. Missing her are siblings Jan (Rick) Lucier, Joel (Anna Marie) Tofflemire, Cheryl (Jim) Weller, Judy Tofflemire, Lori Young and John (Jill) Tofflemire.
Carol loved cooking for her family, with little regard for recipes, creating delights often not capable of being replicated. She enjoyed eating dessert for dinner and quilting with her good friend Cathy Martel.
Carol was pre deceased by her parents Joan and John Tofflemire, and her adored mother-in-law Rose Kessel. Her faithful companion Scrappy, eagerly awaits their reunion.
Karl and family would like to thank Dr. Soong for his attentive care, PSW Gina Wink for all of the assistance, compassion and kindness shown, and to all of the Hospice staff for all that they have done and all that they do. Memorial donations to the Windsor Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements for a celebration of Carol’s life will be forthcoming. Carol was a model of strength and grace to us all. She overcame so many obstacles. We use her lessons now in our time of weakness. We take comfort in knowing that Carol now rests in comfort, peace and clarity. Arrangements entrusted to Families First Funeral Home, 585 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg 519-969-5841.
