January 6, 2021 – The day a drug overdose took the life of Cameron. The day Cameron left us forever. The day he took our hearts with him too young at only 25. The day that we all feared would come. We are beyond devastated right now and struggling to cope with the finality of all of this. Struggling to cope with the aftermath of a drug addiction that he lost his fight with. He was 6 months clean…..6 months. In those 6 months, we all were able to see the real Cameron. He was clean, he was so much happier than he had been in such a long time, he was eating healthy. Most importantly, he was looking ahead to the future. He was focused on his well-being and improving his mental health. He was getting the help he so desperately needed. We are all extremely proud of him and love him so much.
Though he struggled with this disease for years, his friends and family choose to remember his humour, wit, and contagious laughter that could light up a room. Growing up, Cameron loved skateboarding and biking, and had made the entire family watch Twister and Die Hard more times than we can count. He loved hip hop music, action movies, and making people laugh. He had such a good heart and a beautiful soul. These are the parts of Cameron that his addiction could never take from us; he was so much more than his addiction.
Loving son of Brenda (Dan) and Jeff (Cara), cherished brother of Coral. Cam will also be sorely missed by Gramma Jo-anne and Grampa Ken, Mops Suzanne, Aunt Martha and Uncle Claude, Uncle Mike, all of his cousins, dear friend Kaylee and many, many, many close friends.
Nana, Uncle Allan, and Achilles are there waiting for you.
