Maguire, Brian Michael
Brian Michael Maguire passed away peacefully at home in Ottawa on December 5th, with loving family by his side, at the age of 79.
Predeceased by his mother, Kathleen (Betty) and father, Henry (Mick). Loving husband to his wife of 57 years, Veronica (Vicky). Proud father to Michael (Cherill), and grandfather to William and Benjamin. Cherished brother to Graham (Maureen), David (Gillian), Maureen (Malcolm), and Eileen (Jeff), brother-in-law to Patricia (Donald), and uncle to Kathleen, Patrick, Emily, James, Jamie, Callum, David, Sarah, Marc, Louisa, Caroline, Michelle and Alison.
Brian, born in England, served proudly for eleven years in the British Navy, spending two years in Singapore. He moved to Ottawa in 1972 with his wife and son, where he spent his remaining years and ultimately retired in 2021 as co-owner of Unique Accessories in Carlingwood Mall.
Special thanks to the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center (in particular Drs. Laurie and Froeschl), Villagia in the Glebe (in particular, Sue Lankford and Nurse Nathalie) and palliative care nurse Melissa (from Carefor) for their amazing care and support for Brian and our family.
Memorial service will be held at the Tubman Funeral Homes, Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road on Friday, December 10th at 2:00pm. Reception to follow.
