Passed away on Sunday August 22, 2021 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood at the age of 71. Brian of Stayner, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Potter). Loving father of Andria-Lyn Torrie-Milenov and Erin (Bob Davey). Cherished grandfather of Daniel and Isabella Milenov and Torrie and Bethany Davey. Dear brother of Leone (Tom Marshall), Phyllis (the late Harold McKenzie), Arthur (Marlyen) Torrie, the late Harold (Mabel) Torrie and the late Glen (Gwen) Torrie. Brian will also be missed by his sister-in-law Mary (Terry Alexander), his many nieces and nephews, in particular his great nephew Alex McIsaac, his good friend Rod and his neighbours and church friends. Brian was a longtime volunteer at Habitat for Humanity. He was a skilled woodworker who loved to invent, tinker and tend to his vegetable and flower gardens and he would lend a hand to anyone in need. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Stayner Camp & Christian Retreat, 240 Scott Street, Stayner on Friday August 27, 2021 at 1 o’clock. Please bring your own chair. Interment Stayner Union Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society for colon cancer would be appreciated by Brian’s family.
