It is with great sadness to announce the death of my beloved husband Brian, who passed away suddenly on November 29th, 2021, at Whitehorse General Hospital, Yukon Territory.
In 1975, Brian with his brother Don, left Saskatchewan for an adventure in the Yukon. Before the trip was over the brothers decided to make the Yukon their new home.
Brian was well known for his respectful, kind ways, his great sense of humour, and he enjoyed the friendships of all that knew him. Brian was a creative and talented artist, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities throughout his life.
A lover of all animals, especially his Macaw parrot Jewel. Brian with Jewel perched on his shoulder, walked through the neighbourhood to the delight of many children. He always took the time to answer all their questions and they affectionally called him the Parrot Man.
Brian is predeceased by our three beautiful daughters, Sarah, Rachel and Ashley; his father Daniel and his brother Don. He is survived by his loving wife Lorna; mother Betty; sisters Judy (Tim) and Laurie; brother Rod (Adeline); brothers in-law Phil (Sue) and Harold (Vickie) Roche, and all the nieces and nephews.
I would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of Whitehorse General Hospital for all their care and support during Brian’s brief illness.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held late spring or early summer.
