Branko “Bob” Kos
It is with much sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of Branko “Bob” Kos, of Goderich on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, at the age of 72 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Susan, of 47 years, his son Mark, Melanie, and his beloved grandchildren Isobel, Elena, and Sawyer, and his son Alex and daughter-in-law Silvia. He was the son of Milan and Marica Zlojutro and brother of Milka Uzelac.
Bob grew up in Belgrade, Serbia, where he completed his vocational training as a mechanical technician. After serving in the Yugoslav Air Force as a junior NCO, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1971, where he first met Susan. After their marriage in 1974, they settled in Goderich, where they began their life together, raising a family.
Bob was a man of strong character. He approached life with purpose and passion. He was industrious, never afraid of hard work. With Susan by his side, he owned and operated a series of highly successful motels and restaurants, moving from Goderich to Bruce Peninsula to Muskoka with each new enterprise, but always maintaining roots in the Goderich area. Bob was big-hearted and affable, with his home always open for friends and neighbors to drop by for some good food and drinks, and lots of laughs. He enjoyed spending his spare time outdoors, as he was an avid gardener and bred and raced Serbian Highflyer pigeons.
Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, and charitable friend. He will be deeply missed.
