It is with profound sadness that the family of Bhupinder Singh announces his passing on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the age of 75 years.
Bhupinder was born in Burma in 1945 to Amar and Kesar. Bhupinder lived in Thailand in his youth and later travelled to Burla, India to pursue his studies. Bhupinder would first earn his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in Burla and then his Masters of Electrical Engineering when he immigrated to Nova Scotia to be reunited with his brother Rajinder. After his studies, he met the love of his life Surinder and they would marry in 1979.
Bhupinder and Surinder would go on to settle in Scarborough in 1980 to enjoy the beginning of their happy union. Bhupinder and Surinder welcomed a son, Sunny in 1985 followed shortly by a daughter, Dolly, in 1987. Bhupinder was first and foremost a devoted and loving husband and father. He was a lifelong learner and a man of many passions including soccer, food, travelling, and later on in his life, spending precious moments in retirement with his wife.
Bhupinder is lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Surinder; children: Sunny (Valerie), Dolly (Ruben); brother, Iqbal and Rajinder; sister, Kitty as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Bhupinder was predeceased by his parents Amar and Kesar; and siblings, Ujjal, Zorawer and Sharan.
A Celebration of Bhupinder’s life will be held on Monday August 23, 2021 at 2:30 – 4pm at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Avenue, Markham, Ontario, L3R 5G1. A private cremation service will follow.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the healthcare professionals at Sunnybrook Hospital, SHN Centenary Hospital , and the VHA for their care and compassion.
