« Betty » Angela Marie Damery
1951-2021
It is with sadness that the family of Betty Damery of
Lincoln, NB, announces her passing at Hospice House Fredericton on
September 11, 2021 at the age of 70. Born in Saint John, NB, on
January 17, 1951, she was the wife of the late Cecil
Damery.
Betty leaves behind her sons, Stephen (Lily) of Saskatchewan,
and Mark (Shelly) of Lincoln, NB; mother, Hazel Evoy; grandchildren,
Karissa and Dakota Damery, as well as their stepsister, Harmony
McDonough; siblings, Robert Meehan of Alberta, and Sandra, Cheryl and
Herb of Ontario; brother-in-law, Sydney Erb of Quispamsis, NB. In
addition to her husband, Cecil, Betty was predeceased by her father
and stepmother, Weldon and Myra Osbourne; also by Jean and Gordon
Parlee, the parents that raised her; siblings, Marie and
Fred.
Betty had severed 30 years as a secretary for DND. She worked
at 403 Helicopter Squadron for 23 years and is an Honoury Member of
the Squadron, which she retired from in 2006.
Betty had many interests and volunteered with several local
Oromocto groups. She was a leader with the Lincoln Lighthouse Beaver
Scouts and helped with the Oromocto Food Bank and Meals on Wheels. She
participated in the Relay for Life for 15 years and ran Oromocto Chase
the Ace. Betty also enjoyed playing pickleball with the Oromocto and
Area Pickleball Club. She was a great traveller, taking many trips
with her beloved grandchildren.
Special thank you to Michelle and Brian McDonough for their
love and support they have given to Betty’s
family. Thank you to the Oromocto Extra Mural Nurses, the
Oncology doctors and nurses, and to Hospice House for all of your
kindness and support over the past year.
As per Betty’s request, there will be no
visitation. A memorial service will be held from Oromocto Baptist
Church on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 3pm with Rev. Dr. Perry
Hanley officiating. For those unable to attend, A live stream

and click on « Watch Live »). Interment will be in Oromocto
Pioneer Gardens. For those who wish, donations in Betty’s
memory can be made to Hospice Fredericton, Oromocto SPCA, or the
Canadian Cancer Society.
