Passed away at the Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre on December 20st, 2021, Bert Tremblett leaves to mourn his wife Barbara, son Darren, brother Bill and a whole host of friends.
Born in 1930, Bert lived a long and full life. He was someone who knew everybody, or at least everybody knew him. He amassed many, many friends working various jobs throughout Newfoundland and whether it be on the construction of the Trans Canada highway, in Labrador or at the fish plant, Bert was ready to bring a smile to anyone’s face that would listen to his jokes. His comedy was known far and wide by his peers.
As we leave to mourn a father, brother and husband, we should be celebrating a long and rich life. He delighted many crowds at the Salvation Army cooking huge home cooked meals with his closest friends. The kitchen was a second home and cooking became a passion. The meals will be missed.
Private Family Visitation begins at Strathie’s Funeral Home on Wednesday 22, 2021 at 1 pm, followed at 2 – 4pm and 7-9 pm for the general public. On December 23, public visitations go from 2-4pm and then 7-9pm.
The funeral service will begin on December 24 at 11 am in the Salvation Army in Bonavista, after which will be the internment at graveside in the Salvation Army cemetery.
The family would prefer that donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society in Bert’s name in lieu of flowers. Bert lived with diabetes for over 40 years and without the ground breaking research, may have had a shorter life.
