Obituary
Bernice (Byrdie) Moir, 97, passed away peacefully on October 28,2021 in the Christensen Village care home in Gibsons B.C. She was predeceased by her first husband F/L G. William (Bill) Rawlings in 1952 and by her second husband Dr. J. Hector (Hec) Moir in 2006. Born in Kelowna B.C., she was the daughter of Bernard and Mary Greening. Byrdie graduated from the Royal Inland Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1956. She then worked at Kelowna General Hospital until retiring in 1966. She enjoyed activities such as golfing, bowling and gardening. She also volunteered for many years at the KGH gift shop and was a member of the St Michael and All Angels Anglican Church Altar Guild. She is survived by her son Bill Rawlings (Carmene) of Sechelt B.C., step daughters Sharon Roberts (Michael) of Saanich B.C. and Susan Brayton of Abbotsford B.C.. She was predeceased by her stepson Brian Moir (Pat) of Kelowna B.C.. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Byrdie will be laid to rest at a family gathering in Kelowna B.C. in the spring of 2022. Anyone wishing to make a remembrance donation please do so to the charity of their choice.
