Baird, Barbara (nee Lee) passed away peacefully on Thursday December 16th at age 90 years. Beloved wife of Len for 64 years. Devoted mother of Heather Parsons (Stewart), Peter Baird (Pamela), and Joanne Minkus (Mitch). Cherished Nana to Lyndsey (Aaron), Matthew (Sara), Stephanie (Adam), Ben (Morgan), Andrew (Michelle), and Connor (Dana). Proud great grandma to Addysen, Zackary, Kennedi, Joshua, Evan and Ella. Loved sister-in-law to Stan, David and Marion Baird. Predeceased by sisters Kay Rowan, Marion Myles, Evelyn Warburton, and sister-in-law Marion Baird. Favourite aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Born in Lavant Station, Barbara moved to Ottawa in 1949 to start her teaching career where she met Len. Barbara lived a happy and vibrant life with family and so many friends from Parkdale United Church, Carleton Heights Curling Club, and Carleton Golf and Yacht Club. She was an avid curler (Canadian Seniors Curling Champion 1988), golfer, and bridge player. Barbara and Len loved to travel with their friends, but her first love was spending time with family. She will be remembered fondly for her warm heart, sense of humour and good natured teasing. Special thanks to the caring staff at Park Place Seniors Residence.
