It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Barb on September 23, 2021. Her more than heroic, brave battle with Anorexia Nervosa has ended and she is at peace in God’s arms.
Predeceased by her Mother and Father, Jean and Jack Evans, and her twin brother, Bill Evans; maternal Godmother Barbara Irwin (Dick) and Uncle Monseigneur Bill Irwin. She will be deeply missed by her Sister, Catherine (Sheril) Vernon, B.C., Barb’s loving and supportive cousins, Pattijean, Jack (Andrea), and Rick (Lara) of West Vancouver, BC and all of their children; dearest friends, Joan Johnston and Denise Costigan, and so many others.
Heartfelt thank you to all of the devoted and dedicated staff at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, including Ann Henry, Manager 8-1B.
Barb always put others ahead of herself. Her heart was golden! She was loyal and generous. A brilliant student of academia and ballet, keen to learn and challenge herself throughout life. Her encyclopedic memory for dates and milestones was a gift to the entire family. Her incredible wit and charm brought joy and laughter to all!
Barb diligently planned her annual trips to the Okanagan and loved to swim in Kalamalka Lake. She would arrive at Christmas with fanfare, her favourite time of year, bearing gifts and treats for Catherine’s beloved dogs, who she adored. Go Oilers!
A private Memorial Service (COVID-19) will be officiated by Chaplin Daince and Fr. Glenn McDonald CSB. Barbara’s urn will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail NW, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to AHE Unit 8-1B Box 307 17480 Fort Rd. NW T5J 2J7.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Barbara Evans 2021..
