B. Eleanor Adams
1944-2021
Barbara Eleanor Adams, 77 of Moncton passed
away peacefully on Saturday,
October 30th, 2021 at the Moncton
Hospital. Born in Anagance on
February 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the
late Clarence and Ella
Bessie Harper.
In her early life
Eleanor was
a Home Economic Teacher and worked
in the insurance business at Adams
Insurance. She enjoyed travelling; having
gone on several cruises, riding on the back of a Harley
Davidson motorcycle, or driving her ’89
Ford Mustang convertible and listening to
Elvis. Although Eleanor did not have any children,
her unconditional love instead went
toward the many cats and dogs she homed
during her lifetime.
She is survived by her partner
Roger Smith of Moncton, NB, sister Anne Teixeira
(late Joseph) of Brampton, ON, and Harold Harper
(Thérèse) of Anagance; nieces
and nephews Ramon, Heidi, Shane, Sonya and Taylor; and
Roger’s children Stephen, Susan, and Jeffery (Margaret). She
is survived by several first cousins in
addition to Dale Dael (Raphael) of
Riverview, NB and will also be missed by her many
friends and family.
Arrangements are in care of The
Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800). There will be no
visitation by request. A Graveside Service
at Anagance Cemetery will be held at a later
date.
In Eleanor’s memory,
donations to the Moncton SPCA
or the Anagance Cemetery would be
appreciated by the family. Online condolences are
available at www.keirsteads.ca.
« I came just to take you
riding
in the sweet, cool evening
air.
Not so sure I really should
–
but did, and did not care.
As now the
time is past and gone,
the
memory fades away.
The
warmth felt with
your presence
as we rode through night
and day.
Be for yourself, for no one
else,
do what you feel is right.
For if I had one gentle wish,
we’d ride close again tonight. »
