Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aurore Morrissey Furlong in her 86th year. She was surrounded by family as she peacefully left us to begin her journey to Heaven, her forever home.
She was predeceased by her parents Napoleon and Gabrielle Levesque, her brothers Gerald, Reginald, Gilbert, Armand, Antoine and her sister Huguette. She is survived by a sister Pauline Price of Oshawa, her brother Michael Levesque(Pat)of Edmonton, and her 6 children, Judy Morrissey of Edmonton, Donna Valiquette (Terry) of North Bay, Gail Capotorto (Vito) of Edmonton, Elaine Morrissey of Edmonton, Kevin Morrissey of Winnipeg and Patricia Morrissey of Florida. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, and all those who called her “Nanny”, especially her 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, her great great granddaughter and many step grandchildren.
Aurore was a long standing active member of the Oshawa Moose Lodge till she moved to North Bay in 2016. She always had a competitive spirit whether she was golfing, playing cards, bowling or bringing the ladies of the Moose to victory as the Senior Regent during regional Ceremonial competitions.
She loved to go to the local dances and gatherings at the seniors’ club and loved to bake her favourite cookies for the children’s church gatherings.
A special thank you to the doctors and the Care Team at the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa for the extra special care and compassion during her stay and their exceptional care in her final days.
