Obituary of Arthur Lawrence Parker
PARKER, Arthur Lawrence
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Arthur Lawrence Parker on January 6, 2021 in his 94th year. Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 68 years Marjorie (Trewin) with whom he enjoyed ice skating, bike riding and travelling over the span of their many years together. Also survived by his sister Iris Gibson (Keith), and his brother Dennis Parker (Sharlene). He was a cherished Father to Carol (Charles), Wendy (Valerio) and Bruce (Terri). Arthur will be greatly missed by his eight grandchildren, and his six great-grandchildren who were his greatest treasures. Arthur astounded all who knew him with his love of modern technology. He was the first to get the newest IPhone and IPad versions as soon as they came out. He loved to talk about his new devices with his grandchildren with whom he connected on so many levels. He belonged to the Masonic Wentworth Lodge #166 A.F&A.M., and was a proud Canadian who always flew the flag. On nice days he could be found sitting outside in his large backyard with Marjorie, tapping his toes to his music; anything from AC/DC to symphony to old country, he loved it all. That is how we will all choose to remember him, enjoying life and surrounded by the love of his family; in his own home until his last day. We will miss him dearly, and be forever grateful to him for being our role model, our teacher, and for his steadfast, unconditional love. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Juravinski Hospital, who we regard as heroes, for taking such good care of our Father. Cremation has taken place.
