Obituary
Passed away peacefully in his 86th year on Wednesday, October 13th after a lengthy and stoic battle with cancer. Beloved husband to Shirley Yeoman of 65 years. Loving father of Ron (Marion) and Peter (Brenda). Cherished grandfather of Adam, Eric, and Alicia. Brother of Jean Heaford (the late Jack), Betty Watt (Ross), and Allan (Sharon). Uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend to many. Art spent 41 years as a volunteer firefighter for the Bracebridge Fire Department. He was also a director of the Muskoka Pioneer Association and had been involved for over 28 years. He had a passion for the simple things in life, his family, the homestead, outdoors and collecting old stuff. He loved to bring Muskoka’s history back to life. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the healthcare team who have been so compassionate through his journey.
In memory, donations to the Manna Food Bank, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a cause of your choice would be greatly appreciated and can be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. A private family service will take place due to Covid restrictions.
We were truly blessed to have Art in our lives, and he will be missed by the community and family dearly.
