Arnold Carl Jorgensen
1931 – 2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Arnold Jorgensen announce his passing on November 27, 2021, at the age of 90 years. He passed away peacefully at the Drayton Valley Hospital with family by his side.
Arnold will be remembered for the love of his family, his friends and community. He worked in the oilfield, on the farm, drove school bus and chaired various boards including the DV & D Health Complex Board. He served on the Yellowhead County Council for 24 years, having been Chairperson for the majority of that time. He took great pride in spending time with his family camping, fishing and golfing. Upon retirement he moved from Wildwood to Drayton Valley in 1995.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Joyce of 64 years; daughters Valerie (Brian) and Cheryl; grandchildren Serena, Eric and Darren and great grandchildren Gary, Julian, Cadence and Callie.
Arnold was predeceased by his parents, Jens and Olga Jorgensen of Wildwood; his brother, Arthur Jorgensen of Edson and his son, Gary Jorgensen of Wildwood.
He will be greatly missed.
A private family service was held at the Affinity Funeral Service Chapel.
Memorial donations in Arnold’s name may be made to the Drayton Valley Health Foundation Palliative Care Project.
The family extends deep gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses at the Drayton Valley Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Ayotte.
