Our beloved Annina Giuditta “Judy” Pajaczkowski (nee Astorino) passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2021. While heaven has surely gained another angel, she has left an unfillable void in the hearts of those who loved, and were loved by, this amazing woman. Born on July 26, 1930, Judy was the treasured daughter of Carmen and Rosa Astorino, and beloved sister of Josie, Angelina (Natale), and Joseph (Mildred). She was the devoted mother of Jason (Jennifer) Pajaczkowski, and the loving grandmother of Mia and Matea. She also leaves behind her nephews Jimmy (Carole), Ric, Mark (Karen), Joey (Helen), and Michael. Her passion for family, as well as her kindness and generosity, were limitless. Nobody left her home without a full stomach, a hug and a kiss, a solemn promise to return as soon as possible, and a smile on their face. She defined what it means to be selfless – no matter the problem, you knew that Judy would have your full support. She personified grace and class and dedicated herself to making the lives of all those around her better. Those fortunate enough to have known her carry the memories of her life inside us, both to share and to reflect upon, when her loss seems too much to bear.
Judy had a passion and gift for everything related to the arts, whether it was as the lead buyer for clothing at Simpson’s department store, drawing woodland sketches while talking to her sisters every day, or decorating her home. She saw beauty in everything, and beauty in everyone. She laughed freely, loved unconditionally, and protected fiercely.
We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at Allendale long term care home. The nursing staff and personal support workers accepted Judy with open arms and took such amazing care of her. We are in your debt for so warmly caring for our dearest Judy.
We will be holding a service at McKersie-Kocher funeral home at 2pm on Thursday October 14, 2021, before her interment at Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery alongside her parents and siblings.
