WORDLEY, Nancy (Annie) – December 12, 1934
Passed away peacefully in her 86th year with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer at Hospice Peterborough on Saturday November 27, 2021.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland she emigrated to Canada over 60 years ago, settling in Toronto. In 2004 she moved to Peterborough where she was able to enjoy her retirement years.
A wonderful and devoted mother who will be dearly missed by her children Debbie Jane (Doug), James Wordley (Lorena) and Lesley Nixon (John). Her grandchildren Chris (Joanna), Michael, Kevin (Julia), Robert and Herlinda held a special place in her heart as did her two great-granddaughters, Amelia and Mackenna. As a dear aunt to her nieces and nephews she shared a very special bond with her niece Denise.
Predeceased by her parents Maisie & Robert Dishington, her two sisters Margaret and Marion and brother Robert.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Beamish and the amazing and caring staff of Hospice Peterborough and the Palliative Care staff at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Hospice Peterborough, Peterborough Regional Health Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held on Friday December 10, 2021 at Ashburnham Funeral Home, Peterborough, Ontario.
