Gold, Anne (nee Furse)
Anne passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Carpenter Hospice on Sunday, November 21st after a long battle with dementia. She was born September 9th, 1937. She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 32 years, Ken, her sister Patricia, her daughters Lisa (Scott) and Trisha (Mike), step-daughter Carolyn (Gary), step-son Gary (Lorraine) and daughter Joanne (family in Kitchener). Anne had many loving grandchildren Matthew (Josie), Corbin (Lorelei), Mitchell, Parker, Abby, Jordan, Connor, Luca and Nora, as well as many great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, William and Florence Furse, and siblings Pauline and John.
She was born in England, and then moved with her family to Canada in the early 50s. She was a dedicated employee of the Bank of Montreal for 34 years. Anne had a love for family gatherings, cooking, being at the beach and gardening. Feeding the chipmunks and many birds was always special to Anne during her stays up at her happy place in Barry’s Bay. Anne was also a cancer survivor and was grateful for the many staff at the JBMH cancer clinic, so much so that she became known there for the many dozens of muffins she baked and delivered each time she visited.
Her family would like to express their gratitude for the 7 years of care she received from the PSWs at the Halton LHIN services. Ken’s devotion to caring for Anne allowed her be at-home before transitioning to the Carpenter Hospice for her final days. Words cannot express the family’s appreciation for the compassion and comfort provided by the staff during this time. Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Carpenter Hospice.
