Ann’s Obituary
Kenney, Oressa “Ann” – Age 83 passed away peacefully on Sept 18, 2021 with her family by her side. Born in Princedale, Annapolis County, on August 24th, 1938; she was the daughter of Moody and Elsie Wright. She spent her childhood in, Waterford (Digby County), Clementsvale, Tremont, and then Wilmot. While living in Middleton and raising us girls, Mom decided to go back to school and, through hard work, earned her CNA diploma. She worked for a few years at the Adult Residential Center in Bridgetown and enjoyed her time there. For many years Mom enjoyed reading, gardening, crafts, and music (she could play many songs by ear on the piano). In later years she got great pleasure from feeding the birds and visiting with friends and family, including her stepson Greg and wife Bonnie, who paid regular visits. Mom spent the last number of years in Nictaux where her neighbours and friends kept a close eye on her. Special thanks go out to Donna and Theresa, whose compassionate and loving care allowed Mom to stay in her home as long as possible. Her final year was spent at Kennedy’s Boarding Home for Seniors where she developed new friendships. We are grateful to Barb Kennedy (and staff) who gave mom exceptional care and treated her as one of her own family. Mom was predeceased by her husband Arden Kenney. She is survived by her brother Laurimer Wright (Helen); her daughters, Valerie Drew (Larry), Michele Height (Kevin), and Susanne Aldred; her three grandchildren Morgan (Melanie), Jessica (Joe), Lindsay, and two great grandchildren, Isabelle and Rosalie. A private family graveside service will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., Middleton, N.S. toll free 1-855-825-3448. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
