Obituary of Angus William MacLean
Angus William “Junior” Maclean age 77, of Glen haven Manor, New Glasgow passed away peacefully Nov. 21, 2021 with his family by his side. Born in Merigomish on January 5, 1944 he was a son of the late Sarah MacLean.
Junior was an employee of the evening News in New Glasgow for 37 years. While at the Evening News his many many co-workers were like family; Tom Mackay and Ed MacCallum were 2 of his best friends. After the Evening News he worked at Sam’s Pizza in Trenton, with this job came lots of good stories, usually at his expense with burns to his arms from the hot oven.
He enjoyed curling for many years, and was a member of the Westville Curling Club. He has resided in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow for the past 7 years.
He was a great husband and father, he loved his family and enjoyed the time spent with all. He loved his dogs and anything chocolate.
He is survived by his wife Joy (Mason) Maclean, New Glasgow; children Barry MacLean, Janice Greene (Blaine MacLane), Jeff (Lisa) MacLean, grandchildren Andrew Greene, Logan, Jaiden and Karleigh MacLean, daughter-in-law Vicki MacLean, brother Joe (Glenna) MacLean.
Angus was predeceased by his mother Sarah MacLean, son Steven MacLean, sisters Bet Pettipas and Janet Millen.
A celebration of his life will be held in the H.W. angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 11 am with Rev. Gail Johnson- Murdock officiating. A reception will follow the service.
Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
