It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ambrose Jones of Petite Forte announces his passing. Ambrose passed away at the US Memorial Hospital in St. Lawrence on Thursday, December 23rd, 2021, at the age of 70. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife Margaret of 39 years; daughter Pamela Smith (Jonathon) of Boat Harbour; grandchildren Isaac and Jacob; twin brother Anthony Jones (Angela) of Paradise; brothers Felix Jones (Kay) of Dunville, Eugene Jones (Geraldine) of Petite Forte, Peter Jones (Margaret) of South East Bight; sisters Cecilia Pearson of Petite Forte, Florence Barry of Petite Forte; sisters-in-law Marie Jones of Parker’s Cove, Sadie Jones of South East Bight; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Ambrose was predeceased by his parents Peter and Irene Jones; brothers Pius, Tom, Dolph and Gerald Jones; sister Lucy Grace.
The Jones Family will be accepting visitors at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Petite Forte on Sunday, December 26th, 2021 beginning at 12 noon. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, alert level 3, this will be a walk through visitation. When entering the church you will be required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Petite Forte on Monday, December 27th, 2021 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary RC Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, in Ambrose’s memory donations may be made to the Holy Rosary RC Church.
