CANNON – Alva Jean (Sept 4, 1938 – Nov 10, 2021) –
Surrounded by her loving family on November 10, 2021, Alva Jean Cannon, in her 84th year, passed away peacefully at the Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford, ON. Alva is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Gordon, and their children Susan and Martin. She is predeceased by her son Gregory (Susan). She is survived by her siblings, Patricia, Joyce, Sanford, and Sharon, and predeceased by her siblings Shirley, Karen, and Freeman Jr. She is also survived by her four granddaughters, Sarah (Luciano), Melissa (Phillip), Emma (James), and Deanna, ten great grandchildren, and many special friends. Alva was an avid golfer and curler and a long time member of Arrowdale Public Golf Course and the Paris Curling Club. She was especially proud of her “8 Ender” that she skipped her team to in March, 2016. In her early years Alva was a 4H leader. She was a talented seamstress and could often be found in her sewing room working on a project or mending items for friends and family. Alva was a member of the choir and congregation at Cainsville, Wesley, and most recently, St. Andrew’s United Churches. Her life was enriched by her active involvement in these organizations, and by the many friends she met along the way. Many thanks to Dr. Connelly and Dr. McNeil, Shelley and the Community Outreach Team, and staff at both CBI Health and Stedman Community Hospice for their outstanding care. Memorial Service to be held at St. Andrew’s Church, 95 Darling Street, Brantford, ON, on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 at 11:00 am. All attendees must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination. Social distancing and masks protocols will be in place. Alternatively, the service may be viewed online by logging into Zoom Livestream and using the Meeting ID: 815 7068 7944 with Passcode: 369355 . In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice in Alva’s memory, would be appreciated by her family.
