Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Dear Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Auntie, Cousin, and Friend Alpha Charlotte Drunken Chief at the age of 60 years old.
Charlotte was known to have a huge heart in advocating to help families in need. She started up a food bank in the basement of her home in Little Washington and it expanded, where she was giving the opportunity to have a bigger place, so she can help more families.
Later on she moved to Calgary and continued to help Siksika Urban Families with the help of organizations such as Siksika Family Services, Calgary Food Bank, and Medicine Hat Food Bank. Charlotte pursued to giving Christmas Hampers and organized the Christmas Train to stop in Siksika for singing and entertainment at the Community Centre.
In her earlier years Charlotte worked at the Stoney Nakoda Lodge as the chefs helper and because of her outstanding work, she was given the opportunity of Kitchen Supervisor.
Charlotte loved going to powwows and was always wanting to dance. She never let her disability get in her way. One day she put on an outfit and danced in her wheelchair during the intertribals at one of the Siksika Powwows. In spite of her illness, Charlotte never let anything stop her from doing what she loved and she did this through Courageous effort.
Charlotte was a dear woman, who had a heart of Gold and greeted everyone with a smile or hug and was loved by many. Charlotte was the Matriarch of her family and will be missed, especially by her grandchildren whom she dearly loved.
Charlotte also had a great love for her Two Young Men family and they always considered her as family.
Charlotte is survived by her Children: Chris, Gary-Sonny, Jerilyn (Aaron), and Cameron.
Adopted Children: Selma Sitting Eagle, Esther Many Bears, and Haven Carpenter.
Grandchildren: Marlon Jr., Cody, Tori, Hailey, Romeo, Rowann, Zoey, and Knowledge.
Great-Grandchild: Abigail.
Nephews and Nieces too many to mention.
Traditional Family: Mother Eve Yellow Old Woman, and Sister Rose Running Bird.
Godchildren: Shanille Winnipeg and Brittany A Young Man.
Siblings: James (Man) Jerry, Willy (Patti) Jerry, and Rhonda (Hector) Winnipeg.
Aunts: Roberta Pelletier and Doreen Jerry
Uncles: Norman (Liz) Running Rabbit and Robert (Judy) Running Rabbit.
Elder Cousin: Gerald (Laura) Sitting Eagle.
Special Friends and Family: Janice Doore, Roanna Sitting Eagle, and Dino Saddle Back.
Mother-in-law Darlene, Sisters-in-law Gaylene and Kim, Brother-in-law Kingsly.
Predeceased by Children: Roanna Two Young Men, Emery (JC) Two Young Men, and Billy Drunken Chief.
