Almeda Marie Vannest, at the age of 95, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Nov.7, 2021. She was born in Belleville and was the daughter of William and Mary Wessels. She will be greatly missed by her son William (Jean), Her step-children, Alvin, Phyllis (Doug), and Paul (Judy). Marie was predeceased by her husbands, Horace Lowery, Wilmot Embury, and Gerald Vannest. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Ruth (Ross), Walter (Bernice), Ted (Muriel), Shirley (Gerald), Arnold (Nadine), and Bob (Grace). She will be deeply missed by her sister Evelyn (John) and her sisters- in-law, Nadine and Grace. She was a much- loved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She leaves behind grandchildren, Heather, Lori, William Jr. (B.J), Justin, Diane, Jackie, Mark, Wade and Alanna , and several great grandchildren.
Marie worked at Bell Northern for many years. She was also widely known for her wonderful quilt making, her doll making, her delicious pies, and her love of ice cream. She was very active in her church and was always helping wherever she could. She told everyone about her wonderful Lord.
A friends and family visitation will take place at John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow Belleville Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend. Masks are required. If desired, memorial donations to Samaritan’s Purse Canada are requested.
