Obituary of Allan John Cameron
Allan John Cameron
October 18, 1940 – January 27, 2021
Surrounded by his family who love him beyond measure, Allan John Cameron passed into God’s hands after a lengthy experience with myelofibrosis and brief journey with acute leukaemia.
Raised by his loving parents, Archie and Eileen Cameron, Allan grew up on a farm on the 4th Line of Warwick Township. His passion for motorcycles and cars became his career, working his way from trade school to his thriving autobody business, Cameron Collision Service. Al “retired” to farming, buying his first tractor at age 67, and continued to farm his father’s and brother’s land until age 79.
Allan was a lifelong resident of Watford, dutifully serving with the Watford Fire Department for 43 years, and worshipping at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, “Cam” traveled East, West and North on hunting adventures, and traveled every year for more than 60 years to fish in Northern Ontario.
Married 55 years to the love of his life, Joan (Catt), Allan was a devoted and loving husband. Father to the late Daniel, Sherri (Michael), Julie (Calvin), Samuel (Rebecca), and Pamela (Michael). Proud grandfather to Marika, Kyle, Mason, Hannah, Marshall, Gabriella and the late Joseph. Allan is predeceased by his parents, Archie and Eileen Cameron, his sister Alice (Wilson) and brother Howard. He leaves behind many loving family members and friends who enriched his life immeasurably.
Allan will be remembered for his infectious laugh, work ethic, storytelling, sheer determination, bright smile, and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His life was well lived, and he was well loved. Our memories of Al will most certainly be a blessing.
A celebration of life will take place in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family would kindly request donations to the Bluewater Health Foundation (Palliative Care designation), St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church of Watford, or alternatively, please consider rolling up your sleeve to donate blood to Canadian Blood Services. This act of kindness gave Allan more years of life, which was a gift to us all. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.watfordfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF WATFORD.
