Allan Hoekstra, age 85 passed away peacefully June 23, 2021 at Meadowville Villa in Petrolia, Ontario. Allan is survived by his daughter Janette Hewitt, and son-in-law, Adrian West. Loving Grandfather of Ryan Huckle (Tanya), Justin Huckle, Jordan Feeley, Austin West and Brandon West. Great Grandfather to Jesse Brownlee, and Maddox Huckle. He also loved Maddox’s Mom Britney Loomans. Allan was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Gerty on Aug. 10, 2020 and his son Ben in 2014. Allan is mourned by his family: Frances and Harry Boers, Greta Holtzhauer, Bill and Geralee Hoekstra, Co and Alice Vanderlaan, John Hoekstra. Predeceased by Dick and Catherine Hoekstra, Andy and Jennie Hoekstra, Jack Holzhauer, Bob Williams, Betty Hoekstra.
Allan will also be dearly missed by his family in The Netherlands: His beloved nephews and nieces, who were so helpful, Anton Bakker (Yolanda) and Eric Bakker (Ina). My Mothers twin sister, Graddy Bakker, Steven Rutgers, Ab Rutgers (Reinke), Anneke Rutgers. Predeceased by Martinus Bakker, Jan Rutgers, Siem Rutgers, Tineke Rutgers, Henny and Marinus Visser, Henk and Janny Rutgers, Annie and Rits Oegema, Tiny and Hans Dales.
Allan owned Lambton Meat products for many years and was well known for his great food and excellent service.
He loved being a butcher and took great pride in his work.
He was very proud of his 50+ years membership with the Wyoming Lions, receiving a plaque of recognition in 2019.
Allan loved the outdoors, taking pictures of his flowers and going to « The Park ». (wink)
