Robert Allan Dell
March 13, 1957- August 10, 2021
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Robert Allan Dell. He truly led an extraordinary life. As a young man, Allan showed unparalleled motivation and a natural entrepreneurial spirit. In the early 80’s, he entertained the North Bay, Ontario area with his vast musical knowledge as “Mr. Bojangles: The Record Spinning Roadshow”. He also shook up the Huntsville-Muskoka Hospitality Industry with his Catering Company and downtown Bakery and Delicatessen. Allan was a fast food pioneer, bringing his freshly made sandwiches into convenience stores and gas stations all across Ontario. His fleet of food trucks serviced construction sites and local businesses. During the 90’s, he continued his successes in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley by creating a series of fine dining establishments, as well as a Catering Company that specialized in Winery Events and provided food services on movie sets. Allan played a key role as an advocate for the blossoming Okanagan Wine industry. He also made time to give back to his community through his active roles as a member of the Kinsmen Club and Freemason’s Organization. In the early 2000’s, Allan’s father Frank Dell was diagnosed with Dementia. He made the decision to return to North Bay to comfort and care for his father during a difficult time. Shortly after his father passed, Allan himself was diagnosed with a degenerative brain disease, known as PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). After 6 years of bravely fighting the good fight, Allan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He will forever be remembered for his creative ingenuity, old-fashioned values and uncompromising dedication to his family. He was just 64 years old.
“Your Legacy will not be defined by what you left us, but by what you left in us”
Allan will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family and all those who’ve been touched by his legacy.
Always on our mind and forever in our hearts
