It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allan Burn Hall on August 13, 2021 at age 91.
Allan went to be with his wife Elma (of nearly 65 years) who passed away 3 months earlier, who he missed so dearly. Allan was also predeceased by his parents Bill and Mildred Hall; his sister Hazel Moat (Jim); his mother-in-law and father-in-law Walter and Ethel Eastmond; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Rita Hall and Eva Rya (Stan); as well as his granddaughter Jennifer Hall. Left to cherish Allan’s memory are his son Dwight Hall (April); his daughter Gloria Bohay (Daryl); his grandchildren Kimberly Sveinbjornson (Mike), Curtis Bohay, Ashley Bullock (Brady) and Tyler Fletcher (Aileen); his 6 great-grandchildren; his brother John Hall (Jane); a niece and numerous nephews; as well as many dear friends.
Allan was born and raised in Kisbey, Saskatchewan and worked the family farm until he got polio and moved to Regina in 1953. Once recovered, he worked at McDonalds Consolidated for nearly 40 years where he started out unloading box cars and worked his way up to becoming a wholesale buyer for the company.
Allan loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Regina Fish and Game League and received trophies for some of his catches over the years. He loved his Crestliner boat and took it on annual fishing trips to Flotten Lake every Spring and Fall to fish with family and friends. He loved to golf and curl and was a very integral part of the curling community. He treasured the many friendships he made while doing these activities. Allan was very sociable and could easily strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved to garden and always shared his garden produce with everyone. He loved to watch sports and was a huge Toronto Blue Jays fan, watching nearly every game they played. He also loved to cheer on the Saskatchewan Roughriders and often offered his own coaching and player advice. Allan had a passion for picking Saskatoon berries, treasured time with family and friends, loved to travel and enjoyed listening to old time music.
Elma and Allan moved to Brightwater Retirement Living in August 2020. Although COVID -19 prevented them from visiting family and friends, they did enjoy the homecooked meals and the friendliness of the staff and residents. Allan has likely already found Elma and is giving her play-by-plays of the latest Jays game, and is asking “What’s for supper?”
Memorial service will be held for Allan at New Hope Lutheran Church, 370 McIntosh Street North, Regina, SK on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations in memory of Allan can be made to the MS Society of Canada.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Allan Burn Hall August 13th 2021..
