Obituary
Alexander Patterson “Patsy” Christie
Englishtown
Alexander Patterson “Patsy” Christie passed away at 07:45 pm, Monday, December 13th 2021, at the Alderwood Rest Home in Baddeck.
Patsy was an excellent father, friend and husband and will be remembered fondly by all that knew him. Forever the storyteller, we can probably all recall one of his narratives on any number of topics. Patsy was primarily a fisherman for most of his life, and that was his one true passion, building his own boats and lobster fishing gear throughout his career. Patsy also had a 15-year career as Captain in Charge of the Englishtown Ferry, but returned to lobster fishing afterwards.
Patsy is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Regis Christie, by his youngest son Shannon Christie and by a host of nieces, nephews and other family. A good man, well remembered, lives forever. As he would say, “This is not goodbye, it’s just so long.”
Patsy was predeceased by his firstborn son Eugene Christie, who was killed in a lobster fishing accident in 1992, and two infant children (Mary and Alexander).
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Victoria County Hospital Doctors, Nurses and staff and everyone at the Alderwood Rest Home for their outstanding service during his final journey.
There will be no visitation or funeral. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
