Alden (Robi) Walter Robinson of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday May 22, 2021 at the age of 83. Robi was born in Windsor, NB, Carleton County on January 27, 1938.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann (Kelly) Robinson, daughter Cynthia (Robinson) Hayes, Miramichi, son Stephen Robinson, Fredericton, his granddaughter Brittany Hayes (Perry Bustin) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB and his son in law Ronald Hayes, Renous.
He is also survived by his brother Ralph (Linda), Toronto, ON, sister, Ann (Cyrus) MacLatchy, Wolfville, NS, his sister in law Phyllis Robinson of Woodstock, NB and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Verrian and Bertha (Haynes) Robinson, brother, Clair Robinson, granddaughter Cassidy Analea Hayes and niece Kelly Robinson.
Robi was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 17 years and an employee of Lounsbury Automotive Ltd Motor Branch in the Stock Room for over 25 years. He was also employed at Heath Steele Mines in the Labour group.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Northumberland Lodge #17 F&AM for over 50 years and the Newcastle Legion.
During his retirement years he enjoyed his daily visits to his camp, his garden, and everything to do with Chevrolet trucks and Ford tractors. His dog Roxie who he adored was never far from his side.
A private service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from The Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel with Father Dan Bastrache officiating, burial to follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Food Bank or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
