Aldana Dawn Swan
1941-2021
Aldana D. Swan, wife of Harold (Tommy) B. Swan, of Harvey Station, NB
passed away December 30, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
Aldana was born in 1941 at Tweedside, NB, a daughter of the late
Stephen and Inez Pearl (Bell) Swan.
Aldana was a loving wife of Tommy, for over 60 years, a mother of
four children, grandmother of eight , great grandmother of ten. She
met her husband at a young age and quickly fell in love. Aldana was a
beautiful baker and everyone loved her bread and rolls. She always
enjoyed having her grandkids around her and then her great grandkids.
They gave her great joy.
Knitting was her favourite pastime. She knitted many sweaters,
blankets, numerous mitts, hundreds of socks that were worn by people
all over Canada. She was an avid curler of the Harvey Station Curling
Club for many years. She loved being a hairdresser for over 40 years
and she had many dedicated clients. It was very hard for her to give
it up. Monday night was always bingo night for mom at the Harvey lions
club. She always had her chair there.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy, daughters Ella Mae Burnett
(Robert), Nancy Sutherland (Randy), Shirlu Kelly (Andrew), son Robert
Swan; her grandchildren, John (Sarah), Justin (Kristin), Jodi (C.J.),
Meagan (Wayne), Amanda (Shanel), Alissa (Kyle), Andrea(Nathan) and
Alynn and several great grandchildren; her siblings, Ann Swan, Beryl
Johnston (Wayne), Charlotte Corey, Betty Piercy, Leroy Swan (Shirley);
sisters-in-law, Barb Swan and Joan McLeod; brothers-in-law, Brian Swan
(Sheila) and Lawrence Swan (Jeannie) and several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her mother and
father-in-law Bert and Ida Swan, brother Russell Swan, and great
grandson Hudson.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Aldana, the family
has suggested the Acton Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
