CONN, Alanna Marie
Our precious Angel has left us and gone to heaven. Alanna Marie Conn, 57, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Born Oct 8, 1964, Sydney N.S. to Shirley Wludyka and the Late Richard Wludyka.
Alanna’s childhood was full of lots of great memories, attending dance classes, figure skating, watching her brother play hockey and going to the horse races with her father. In high school she got her first job at Sobeys where she met her soulmate, Murray. They went on many Florida trips with very dear friends before finally getting married in 1992. Alanna attended Cape Breton Business College after high school and then worked in the insurance business for many years. She then returned to work at Sobeys until recently retiring. Many friends and great times were had during these years.
In 2001 her dream came true when her son Zachary entered the world. He was her pride and joy, and everyone knew it. Zachary took a liking to hockey at the age of 4, and this was right up her alley. A true Hockey Mom, she never missed a game he played, even during her long illness. Her proudest times was when Zachary made the Sydney Academy Hockey team and played his grade 11and 12th year with them. All the road trips and tournaments were great memories, and she cherished every moment. She was so happy to celebrate his20th birthday on October 30, it really meant a lot.
A lot of her happiest and treasured moments was travelling to Florida with family and friends, shopping trips to New Hampshire, Maine and Boston, and just sitting by the fire on summer nights with friends.
Alanna will be forever missed by her husband Murray, son Zachary, mother Shirley Wludyka brother Frank Wludyka (Antoinette)and special nephew Joshua Wludyka.
She was predeceased by her father Richard Wludyka and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Funeral mass will be held Friday November 12, 2021 at 11 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Covid-19 protocol will be followed. Double vaccination, ID and masks are mandatory.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer center at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or charity of choice.
