Alan George Parkin June 13th 1932 November 2nd 2021

Alan was born June 13, 1932, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England and came to Canada in August 1948 with his parents and sister.
He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in August 1950, retiring in January 1971 in the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Dad was a charter member of the Fraser Valley Chief & Petty Officer’s Association until its dissolution in 2006 and was a long-time member of the Chief & Petty Officer’s Association in Victoria B.C.
Dad also volunteered with the Abbotsford Community Police Office and the Canadian Cancer Society.
Pre-deceased by his wife of 51 years Caroline in 2005 and great granddaughter Josie, he is survived by his children Cameron (Myrna) Parkin and Karen Majercsak; grandchildren Jennifer (Mike) Willford, David (Meaghan) Parkin, Lisa (Jason) McIntyre, Daniel (Danielle) Majercsak; great grandchildren Cali, Zoe, Adrianna, Everleigh, Quinn, Jack, Lilah and Logan and sister Valerie (Bert) Bowering.
Also left to mourn is Patricia Johnson his life partner and last love.
A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #265, 26607 Fraser Highway, Aldergrove B.C. on December 1,2021 at 1:00 pm.
Please note that proof of vaccination will be required, and masks are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or BC Children’s Hospital.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Complex Care Unit at ARHCC for all their care and compassion.
