Obituary
After a long and adventurous life, Adela Tylak, nee Jaczynska, passed away peacefully on November 9th, 2021. From her birth in Warsaw in her native Poland, she was torn away from family at the start of the Second World War, survived concentration camps, married and gave birth in Germany to her daughter and son, moved to Belgium, won a lottery and came to Toronto, divorced, raised a teenaged daughter on her own, moved to the USA and became a certified practical nurse, looked after Alzheimer’s patients, continued to practice on her return to Toronto until her retirement, and fought a long battle with osteoarthritis in her later years. She lived happily at Copernicus Lodge for the last twenty-six years of her life, her daughter being her essential caregiver. She will continue to be a source of inspiration to our family and the people whose life she touched.
Predeceased by her former husband Tadeusz, she is survived by her daughter Barbara, son Wlodek (Wally), grandsons Mathew James, Stefan, and adopted grandson Michael, and great-grandchildren Julia and Laura.
Pray, if it is your will, for Jesus to welcome her soul.
It was her will to be cremated.
Copernicus Lodge will host a Celebration of Life Service at St. Casimir Church in commemoration of Adela and others recently passed away on Saturday, November 27th, 2021 2:00pm. 156 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M6R 2L4.
Adela Tylak, born February 5th, 1925; passed November 9th, 2021 around 8:30pm. She was 96 years old. RIP.
