Melbourne Clark
1931-2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Melbourne
Clark announce his passing on Saturday, April
24th at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Born
November 29th, 1931, he was the son of the late
Melbourne Sr. and Vera (Trecartin) Clark, and Husband of the late
Marion Clark.
Melbourne leaves behind his children Barb (Brian) McLean of
Richmond Settlement,NB, Deb (Norman) Prosser of Hartland,NB, Sandy
(Shelley) of Edmonton, Alberta, and Sterling (Avis) of
Fredericton,NB ; six grandchildren; eight great
grandchildren; brothers Arnold (Brenda), Norval, Perley (Betty), and
Preston, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Melbourne was
predeceased by his sisters Marjorie, Florence and Avis; Brothers
Reggie, Manzer, and Gerald.
Melbourne worked for years at the Coca-Cola factory in
Woodstock. He moved to Ontario afterwards and was the superintendent
of three very large high rise condominium buildings for 13 years,
before returning to New Brunswick to be with his family and friends.
Both he and Marion frequented Florida to visit Avis and family in
Pensacola.
Melbourne was a loving and extremely devoted husband, and a
wonderful father and grandfather. He was a kind man, who was
compassionate and caring, and had a soft spot for animals. He will be
missed by all.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, April
27th, from 7-8 PM at Carleton Funeral Home. A
service will be held on Wednesday, April 28th,
at 11 AM in the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following
at the Woodstock Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Melbourne’s memory may be made to a charity of the
donor’s choice.
Due to COVID 19 social distancing and masks are
required inside funeral home. A maximum of 50 people
total may be allowed in the facilities at one time.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the
staff of CCNH and Carleton Place for their care and compassion given
to Mel over the years, as well as the care and compassion shown by the
doctors and nursing staff of URVH.
