Peter Corcoran
June 4, 1941 – April 7, 2021
Corcoran, Peter 4 June 1941 – April 7, 2021 with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather. After a very long courageous battle with cancer our Pop reluctantly left this world. Pop has joined our Mum Cathy, his Wife of 56 years in Heaven. Left to adore and remember him always are his Children, Peter (Josie), Paula (CJ) and Christina (Jeff). Heartbroken grandchildren, Peter (Haley), Andrew, Brittany (Andrew), Keaston (Tayler), Jessica (Jessie), Kieran (Macy) and Declan, step-grandchildren, Jeremie, Derik (Kayla), her Great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Rosalia. Mum to his Grandkids, Jeanette, sister-in-law, Margaret. Uncle Peter will be missed deeply by, Linda (Mike), Gerry, Young Margaret (John) and David (Jane) and all their children in Liverpool. In Laws, Portia, Charlie and Diane. Joining his family in heart ache is very special friend Evelyn Kingsland.
Always someone who sought out opportunities Peter moved his family to Canada in 1980 for a new life and to give his children more opportunities. Peter settled in Canada but his heart was firmly attached always to Liverpool and his beloved LFC. We could fill a book with Peter’s adventures and work life. As a Paratrooper in the British Army, Peter travelled the world as a Peace Keeper. A skilled jumper who earned his jump wings for multiple countries. Amongst his achievements, doing early testing the modern-day parachute and training new Paratroopers both regulars and special forces. Peter’s passion for Soccer led him to be one of the most respected Soccer Coaches in Manitoba. Highlights of his Soccer career were achieving his Pro B license, being named Head Coach for the 1986 Canada Games Team, being the Canadian scout for British professional teams and hosting coaching clinics with FA players. Peter coached hundreds of players over the past 40 years and the family has received a multitude of messages stating what an influence Peter had been on his players both in skill and personal development. Peter coached at all levels from Children’s teams to Adult professionals and he gave the same focus to all players no matter their skill level. Peter was a man of great Catholic faith and it was with a heart for service that he took any opportunity to volunteer his time and skills to support the community he lived in. Of all Peter’s achievements in life the greatest of these was being a Father and Grandfather; being surrounded and spoiling his family was when he was happiest and full of life.
Thank you to Dr Gooi, Dr Daeninck and Dr. Rigato, Trish from palliative care, Glen from Mosiac Funeral Home and Father Robert Polz.
Good night, Good Bless Dad, You Will Never Walk Alone.
