December 22, 1935 – April 9th, 2021
Passed away peacefully at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander surrounded by his family on Friday, April 9th, 2021, Walter Edward Harris of Glenwood, at the age of 85 years.
Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Beatrice. His parents Albert and Mary and brother Don.
Left to mourn with loving memories are his sons Jerry, Monty, Derrick (Carmel), daughters Sheila (Junior), Beverly (Joe), Debbie (Aubrey), Diane (Dean), 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers Alec, Lloyd, Dean, sisters Maxine, Marina, Linda and a large circle of relatives and friends.
Edward worked with M.O.T. Gander Airport for years, he loved working with Heavy equipment, loved the cabin life, a good game of cards (crib or 500’s), a good laugh and definitely Mom’s cooked dinner. He will be remembered and missed by all.
The Harris family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre for taking such good care of our father. We would also like to thank Central Health and Compassion’s for your support and dedication. A special thanks to our Homecare workers for being there from the beginning. We appreciate everything that you all have done.
Visitation will take place at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Monday, April 12th from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Funeral service will take place at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Glenwood on Tuesday, April 13th at 2:00 P.M. by invitation only due to the Pandemic. Interment will take place at the Anglican Cemetery, Glenwood.
