April 13, 1950 – March 19, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Fred Reimer share of his sudden passing during a short battle with leukemia, on March 19 2021 at the age of 70 years old. Fred will be forever remembered by his wife Linda, son Kerby (and wife Aleshia), daughter Jackie (and husband Dave), four grandchildren Mickey, Vincent, Olivia and Sophie. Also one step son Clint, six step grandchildren Kamielle, Kristian, Dallas, Elijah, Isaiah, and Madeline, and one step great granddaughter Emilia.
Fred was born in Landmark, MB to Frank and Annie Reimer. At the young age of 5 years old, Fred sadly lost his mother to cancer. He forever missed his mother and always wished he had been able to know her, and had great respect for her legacy. It is meaningful to mention that he passed away on his mother’s birthday.
Fred grew up on the farm in Landmark with his 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He worked very hard on the farm, and created many fun memories working with his dad and playing with his siblings. Fred’s siblings have lots of stories to share of the trouble they got into and the fun times had on the farm. He will be greatly missed by his siblings.
After working as a roofer, Fred developed a love for trucking and began working for Reimer’s Trucking. It seemed his most enjoyable part of the job was using his CB radio. He became well known as “sneaky snake”, and loved to prank other truckers on the road. In 1980 Fred moved on to driving bus for Greyhound Bus Lines. Again, he easily made many long time friends as he was such a friendly and generous man with a great sense of humour. Fred always had funny and interesting stories to share about dealing with challenging riders and situations on the bus.
Fred always loved motorcycles. Fred and Linda had their own motorcycles and really enjoyed their short road trips together. He was a member of the Goldwing club and made many friends. Fred also always had a love for flying and was determined to get his pilot’s license. He studied diligently and accomplished his goal to fly. He enjoyed taking family out on his flying adventures, including upside down spins and flying over his family farm.
Fred happily retired at the age of 65. At the end of his last trip, while proudly dressed in his uniform and hat, he took his grandchildren for a bus ride from the terminal to the bus garage. He delivered a hilarious retirement speech to the kids on his speaker throughout the ride. His family were happy to see Fred enter this next chapter of life that would include more time for relaxation, hobbies and travel.
Fred and Linda began to enjoy their much deserved retirement together. They learned the game of golf and spent many days golfing together, as well as with friends. Fred also took great pride in an immaculate yard and helped Linda follow through with her gardening dreams. They took a much enjoyed road trip to the Maritimes together making lifelong special memories.
Kerby, Jackie, their partners, and children will miss their father/father in law and grandfather beyond words. He never held back saying “I love you” to them, something they are especially grateful for now. Fred had a wealth of wisdom to pass on, always seeming to know the answer to their questions. But he spent just as much time patiently listening and asking questions, always genuinely interested in what they had to share. He especially enjoyed frequently taking Kerby and Jackie individually out for breakfast or lunch, often saying nothing was better than spending time with his “ kids”. He loved to analyze different life situations with them, curious of their opinions and outlook on life. Fred was also proud of his grandchildren, and excited for them as they achieved various milestones in life.
A loving, kind and generous man is already greatly missed by family and friends.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Fred Reimer April 13 1950 – March 19 2021..
